What "OSOM" means
The name carries a double meaning. It stands for Outta Sight, Outta Mind, and it reads like "awesome." Both are the bar the brand holds itself to: talent that stands out, and an experience clients cannot stop thinking about. If a booking is just OSOM, it was unforgettable in the best way.
Why we built it
Booking local talent has always run on group chats, word of mouth, and crossed fingers. You text a DJ, hire a street team, or book a photographer, then hope they show up and do the work. For promotional jobs especially, there is rarely any proof the talent went where they were paid to go.
We built OSOM to replace the guesswork with structure. Vetted talent, instant pricing, secure payment, and a verifiable record of every shift. The founder
OSOM Talent was founded by Shaun Cheney, known in the Arizona scene as Meanmugg, with more than 20 years in entertainment and marketing. He got his start running a street team in 1996, then built a career as a party-starting DJ who has shared stages with the likes of Just Blaze, Questlove, Z-Trip, and Afrika Bambaataa, plus a graphic designer and a creative director and marketing manager for Phoenix and Tucson venues including Cobra Arcade Bar, Hi Score Club, and Stardust Pinbar.
He has worked every side of this business, from major brands and labels down to mom-and-pop shops, and from booking the talent to being the talent. OSOM is the platform he wished existed the whole time. More about Shaun.
